Almacy is seeking a Protocol / Payments Engineer to build our pay-by-handle wallet and on-chain settlement.

We are seeking a Protocol / Payments Engineer to help build Almacy. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend systems and on-chain infrastructure. You will work closely with our team to design, build, and operate the wallet and settlement layer that lets anyone pay by their X handle in USDG and ETH on Robinhood Chain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wallet & Custody: Build and operate the custodial signing service that creates a wallet on first sign-in — the signing key stays in custody and never reaches the browser.
• On-Chain Settlement: Design and implement reliable transfer and settlement flows on Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663), so every payment is a real, public transaction.
• Handle Resolution: Build the service that resolves an X handle to its wallet, so users send to @alice, not to 0xa39f4c.
• Deposits & Withdrawals: Implement deposit detection from any wallet or exchange and withdrawals to any 0x address the user controls, with balances read live from the chain.
• Self-Management & Collaboration: Work independently while coordinating effectively with the team to align with product goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to manage oneself professionally, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong backend engineering skills and experience shipping and operating production services.
• Proficiency in a modern backend language such as Rust, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience integrating with EVM chains — reading balances, building and submitting transactions, and handling confirmations and reorgs.
• Experience with wallets, key management, or payments infrastructure - advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with custodial key management or HSM-backed signing.
• Prior experience building wallet or exchange deposit/withdrawal systems.
• Understanding of stablecoins such as USDG and on-chain settlement.
• Familiarity with OAuth / sign-in flows (e.g. Sign in with X).
